A delightful twist on a classic German dessert featuring honey and almonds.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, sugar, honey, butter, salt, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Pour batter into greased pan and top with sliced almonds.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whip heavy cream and spread on top of the cooled cake.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
