  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rice, cooked
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil cabbage leaves in salted water until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and let them cool.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add mushrooms and cook until soft. Mix in ground beef, cooked rice, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned.
  5. Take a cabbage leaf, place a spoonful of the filling in the center, and roll it up, tucking in the sides.
  6. Place rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour tomato sauce over them.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils.
  • Let the rolls rest for a few minutes after baking for better flavor.
