- 1 head cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup rice, cooked
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil cabbage leaves in salted water until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and let them cool.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook until soft. Mix in ground beef, cooked rice, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned.
- Take a cabbage leaf, place a spoonful of the filling in the center, and roll it up, tucking in the sides.
- Place rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour tomato sauce over them.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils.
- Let the rolls rest for a few minutes after baking for better flavor.
