Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Combine remaining olive oil, minced garlic, and rosemary. Brush this mixture over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.
