  • 4 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups gluten-free pastry flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the gluten-free pastry flour and butter until crumbly.
  3. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and layer the sliced apples on top.
  5. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For the custard, heat the milk in a saucepan.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and cornstarch.
  8. Slowly add the hot milk to the egg mixture while whisking.
  9. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  10. Serve the baked mille feuille layers with warm vanilla custard drizzled over the top.
